Follow these pictures to Copy and Paste a page in GoodNotes 5 (updated for iOS13)

In GoodNotes 5 it’s easy to copy any template available in the Templates section (built-in my 2020 digital planners) and paste it to another location inside the same planner.  I’ll explain the steps below.

Scroll down to see the pictures I have created use my 2020 WINNERS Digital Planner LANDSCAPE version.

Copying and pasting pages

  1. Open your digital planner and click the Templates icon from the right-side navigation
  2. Pick any template on that page and click on it. You’ll be directed to that template’s page
  3. Open the document’s Thumbnails view (the icon with the 4 rectangles)
  4. Tap Select in the upper right corner of the recently opened pop-up window
  5. Tap on the page that you want to copy
  6. Tap Copy at the top (few additional controls will appear on top of the pop-up window after you tap “Select”)
  7. Tap Done to close the Copy pop-up window
  8. Tap Close to close the Thumbnails pop-up window
  9. Navigate your 2020 digital planner using the hyperlinks tabs; reach the destination where you want to paste the page
  10. Open the document’s Thumbnails view once more (notice how the current page is highlighted with a blue stroke)
  11. Choose Before/After Current Page (this is where you’ll paste the copied page)
  12. Tap Paste Pages (and you’ll see the copied page in the new location)
  13. Tap Close and start using your new page

If you follow these steps:

  • the page you copied from the Templates section will remain intact
  • the links on the right-side navigations will remain fully functional

    1. At the moment you can’t do this within the PDF annotation app … Goodnotes 5, Noteshelf 2, or Notability do not have this feature yet. I am not sure about your final goal, however if you want to create your own digital notebook, you can create navigable indexed journals in keynote presentations. Once you’ve created your notebook with hyperlinks, export it as PDF. Then you can import into your preferred app.
